We Can Prevent Sexual Violence in Soacha, Colombia!

Niñas sin Miedo was created when Natalia Espitia saw the need to move beyond simply complaining about the violence that women and girls in her country faced and start to take action against the most pressing issues: sexual abuse and teenage pregnancy.  She wanted to generate solutions so that the new generation of girls could have tools to make decisions, learn their rights, and be fundamental leaders in the development of their communities.  Since taking root in 2016,  Niñas sin Miedo has made an incredible difference for girls in the community of Soacha.  In 2018, our goal is to move forward with the construction of our Girl Empowerment Center, where we plan to deliver sexual and reproductive health programs that contribute to our mission of preventing teenage pregnancy, providing legal and health advice and resources for victims of gender violence, and offering extra-curricular activities that provide girls with the development of life skills through programs of use of information communication technologies and programs for languages, arts, sports, and music.

That’s where we need your help!  The moment to grow has arrived, and we need many people to help us make our Fearless Girls’ Empowerment Center a reality in 2018.  Last year, thanks to some wonderful friends and donors, we raised $1,400 USD.  This year, as we continue to grow as an organization, our goal is even more ambitious.  We have big plans for the year, and it would mean the world to us for you to be part of our mission.   As a contributor and ambassador for Niñas sin Miedo, you won’t be donating to charity, which often prevents people from being active agents in their own progress.  Instead, you’ll be helping to strengthen education and skills to achieve a real change. Although it can mean taking a longer road, we believe that it brings lasting results. We invite you to support  Niñas sin Miedo, not as an act of charity, but rather as an act of believing in the potential we have to keep growing.
